The replacement glazing appears to have got half way along at the top of the roof and about 1/3 of the way further down - that’s presumably a bit of a guide as to how much is still to be done.

My credit was showing up below the value of the purchase, but was never taken into account with the full price of the ticket being charged to my card. I thought I would be clever and delete the card details................the full price of the ticket came up but my credit was no longer displayed, even though the credit was still being shown in my "Wallet" !!

A bridge of the sort that has an embankment topping it, crossing something called the Mor Brook.
The link shows the site on NLS maps, with Google's satellite view as the background.
Looking at the satellite photography, the date of that is stated to be 2025 (which it isn't, cos, trees in leaf) but the bridge/embankment there already looks as if something was having a chew at it.
The structure looks to be able to take double track, but at some time since the 1950s an access road to a house has been taken across one side of it, which would complicate the business of slewing the track to allow the railway to restart services, if that was acceptable from the safety perspective.

I know I have to use my Nationwide banking app to authorize the payment twice for each purchase. It had stopped doing that, but started again a week or 2 ago.

I am aware of a slowing of some page delivery recently - caused partly by a build up of logs from the work done over the new year and tracking how the sight is performing. Also caused by my working some things out from scratch at each page call with less caching of results than before, and far higher robot traffic than we used to have now that we are https. I have made some adjustment already and will be making more. As I know what to look for, I'm seeing a difference; if you hadn't noticed the issue, you won't see any change - for you, we're fixing the issues before it breaks - preventative maintenance.
This - remains - really irritating - but remains for another few weeks to allow me to test ...

Had a £5 off my first train ticket booking promotion from Uber yesterday which I used. Booked a ticket for under that value and it needed me to authorise £0.00 before completion. Appreciate that's not using Uber credits, but seems like there is an issue if it wants the full amount.

90mins in, and tickets are still generally available.
So demand isn't *that* great.

The Coffee Shop will remain open from the last day of February without interruption to the first day in March. I appreciate the risk of coffee / caffeine addiction, but it is up to members how they address this concern personally and what notice if any they take of any calls for a pause in their drinking.

What you say is absolutely correct.....trouble is stuff like 'pregnant person' does precisely the opposite.

I seem to have the opposite. I did go as far as authorising the payment to see if the Uber credit was deducted at that stage - it wasn't, so I stopped the payment. I then got a text from my bank asking if I did or didn't want to go ahead with the (full) payment. I said NO !

I've just booked a ticket successfully (for the Friday). The booking office site actually opened a few minutes after 09:00 - I thought to myself it was gently emulating a train that keeps closely to the timetable albeit not exactly, and matching my mental expectation of keeping within 5 minutes of schedule.
Credit to the organisers for finding a new ticket provider that works.
Perhaps the Department for Transport should now update their guidance on roundabouts in the Highway Code.

Better still - update their guidance to prohibit non-standard road markings. Surely the whole idea of standard road markings is for safety, so that all road users know what the rules are, they can be taught as part of teaching children pedestrian road safety and safe cycling and learner drivers to drive.
I do not have a problem in principle with Dutch-style "home zones" where motorised traffic has to cede priority to others in the right places, but there needs to be clear and universal road signage and marking.

From The Standard
More than one million discounted train tickets were bought during a promotion last month, the Department for Transport (DfT) said.
The total of 1.01 million tickets purchased during the Rail Sale brought in £8.73 million in sales revenue, representing an increase of more than 70% compared with a similar scheme last year.

Do they tell us what proportion of the sales are for journeys that would otherwise not have been made, what proportion are a transfer of journeys from other modes, and what proportion are people who would be travelling by train anyway simply taking advantage of the scheme?

I've got a good idea.
How about sacking the idiots that came up with this bull and using the over inflated salaries to employ staff to physically inspect the state of the permanent way?

Can we say "cattle" rather than "bull" please?
You are assuming that the bovine in question identifies as male. Network Rail would also recommend that the preferred pronouns are ascertained.

Apparently still at Leicester in the goods yard.

I am trying to use my accrued Uber credits to buy a train ticket. I cannot get the Uber website to accept the credits. I have more in credits than the cost of the ticket, but it keeps trying to charge the full price of the ticket to my card. The credits say that they are valid to May 2025.
Anyone else had this problem ? Am I missing something ?
